Online Backgammon
Online BackgammonThe game backgammon enjoyed a huge rejuvenation in the 1970s, but it was only after two decades, at the early 1990s that it took a fascinating turn from being a popular "face to face" game at a middle east and European sunny beaches and market places to the new "IT place" online. As everyone knows when the internet began to grow, it had an amazing affect of people, allowing them to communicate and make friends with other people all over the world. Thus the backgammon game went through several adjustments until it was integrated to the internet completely. You have the opportunity to play online backgammon when ever you feel like meeting new people with the same hobby as yourself and of course at any time you like, no matter day or night. Actually, the online backgammon is a real revolution, which writes new pages of the backgammon history as you read these lines. Each gambler should take an advantage of playing online backgammon to realize that the online backgammon is maybe one of the most interesting and fascinating games.
Online Backgammon RulesThe online backgammon is a game for two players, played on a board consisting of twenty four narrow triangles, called points. These triangles alternate in color and are grouped into four quadrants of six triangles each. Actually, the quadrants are referred to as a player's home board and outer board and the opponent's home board and outer board and the home and outer boards are separated from each other by a ridge down the center of the board, called the bar. Basically, the points are numbered for either player starting in that player's home board and the outermost point is the twenty four point, which is also the opponent's one point. Each one of the opponents has fifteen checkers of his own color and the initial arrangement of checkers is two on each player's twenty four point, five on each player's thirteen point, three on each player's eight point, and five on each player's six point. It is an interesting fact that both players in online backgammon have their own pair of dice and a dice cup used for shaking. Also a doubling cube, with the numerals 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, and 64 on its faces, is used to keep track of the current stake of the online backgammon game. At the beginning the most important thing to be said is that the object of the online backgammon game is to move all your checkers into your own home board and then bear them off. According to online backgammon rules, the first player to bear off all of their checkers wins the game session. Each player throws a single die to start the online backgammon game. This action determines both the player to go first and the numbers to be played. When equal numbers come up, both players roll again until they roll different numbers and the online backgammon player, who has thrown the higher number now moves his checkers according to the numbers showing on both dice. However, after the first roll, the online backgammon players throw two dice and alternate turns. In accordance to online backgammon rules, a checker may be moved only to an open point, one that is not occupied by two or more opposing checkers, while the numbers on the two dice constitute separate moves. For instance, if a player rolls 6 and 4, he may move one checker six spaces to an open point and another checker four spaces to an open point or otherwise he may move the one checker a total of ten spaces to an open point, but only if the intermediate point is also open.
